A Message from your CEO

MCEC – Your Community Partner in Power and Progress

MEMBERS BEWARE!!

We’ve had numerous reports from members who have received calls and visits from individuals claiming to be solar providers in partnership with MCEC. Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative has no such partnerships with any solar vendors.  Please be reminded that MCEC will not try to sell you services nor will we ever ask to enter your home.  We encourage all members to remain diligent and safety-minded.  Please alert your local law enforcement agency and Mid-Carolina Electric of any suspected scam activity.

Outage Map Now Available!

MCEC is pleased to announce that our outage mapping system is now available to the public.  The map can be accessed from your desktop, tablet or mobile phone by visiting this site and locating the Outage Map icon.  As outages occur, icons will appear indicating the general location and will track the number of members without power as well.  You can even search your specific address to determine whether or not your power has been restored.  Members can also zoom in to obtain a more detailed look at the map.

Right-of-Way clearing to take place

For the next several weeks, we will be clearing right-of-way in the Two Notch, Mineral Springs, Old Orangeburg, East Steele and Platt Springs Road areas, as well as Hwy 1. Near Lake Murray, crews will be on Ridge and Devil's Backbone roads. In the Chapin/Hilton areas, crews will be clearing around Old Hilton and Old Lexington Roads. In the Irmo area around Woodland Hills East, and Berryhill Roads, and along East Lawn Drive. You may see these and other trucks in and around your residence. They are contractors for Mid-Carolina Electric.
